Spruce is the tonewood chosen for most steel-string acoustics and Paulownia is a very light and resonant tonewood. The Stealth Esquire from years ago was the 1st incarnation that we knew of, but this custom-wound pickup took into consideration that it would be stuck under some plastic so it would need to be voiced properly.
